Belgique – 1972 

Denis Vernimmen a débuté sa formation musicale au Conservatoire de Namur et y a obtenu deux Médailles du Gouvernement avec la Plus Grande Distinction. Il a poursuivi sa formation supérieure au Conservatoire Royal de Liège où il obtient cinq 1ers Prix et deux Diplômes avec Distinction et Grande Distinction.

De nombreux stages musicaux viendront parfaire sa formation. Il est, en outre, finaliste des Concours Dexia, Andrée Charlier, Excellentia.

Après avoir enseigné le piano pendant dix ans, il est aujourd'hui Accompagnateur à l’IMEP ainsi qu'au Conservatoire de Namur.Il fut également Accompagnateur pendant quelques années au Conservatoire Royal de Liège.

Il se produit en concert avec Etienne Plasman, Jean-Michel Charlier, Thierry Migliorini, Stéphane Réty, Sylvain Cremers, Manu Mellaerts, David Cohen, Jean-Luc Votano...

Mais ce parcours de pianiste classique n'exclut pas sa passion pour le jazz. Il a suivi des cours notamment avec Guy Cabay, Chris Defoort, Ron van Rossum et Charles Loos. Il a joué à plusieurs reprises avec Paolo Loveri, Fabrice Alleman, Laurent Mercier,...

Très attiré par l'analyse et l'improvisation musicales, il fait partie de plusieurs groupes mettant en exergue l'improvisation classique et multistyle, dont certaines prestations eurent lieu à Forest-National, sur la Grand-Place de Bruxelles, au Bataclan, à la Salle Wagram à Paris.

Denis Vernimmen accompagnera exclusivement les saxophonistes qui auront choisi Sonate de Phil Woods en demi-finale.

Denis Vernimmen begon zijn muzikale opleiding aan het conservatorium van Namen en behaalde er twee regeringsmedailles met de grootste onderscheiding. Hij vervolgde zijn hogere studies aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Luik, waar hij vijf 1e Prijzen behaalde en twee Hogere Diploma’s met onderscheiding en met grote onderscheiding.

Tijdens verschillende muziekstages vervolmaakt hij zijn opleiding. Daarnaast is hij finalist van de Dexia Wedstrijd, de Wedstrijd Andrée Charlier en de Excellentia Wedstrijd.

Na tien jaar pianoles te hebben gegeven, is hij vandaag begeleider aan het IMEP en aan het conservatorium van Namen. Hij was ook gedurende enkele jaren begeleider aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Luik.

Hij geeft concerten samen met Etienne Plasman, Jean-Michel Charlier, Thierry Migliorini, Stéphane Réty, Sylvain Cremers, Manu Mellaerts, David Cohen, Jean-Luc Votano e.a.

Dit parcours van klassiek pianist sluit echter zijn passie voor de jazz niet uit. Hij volgde voornamelijk lessen bij Guy Cabay, Chris Defoort, Ron van Rossum en Charles Loos. Hij speelde verschillende keren met Paolo Loveri, Fabrice Alleman, Laurent Mercier e.a.

Erg aangetrokken door muzikale analyse en improvisatie, maakt hij deel uit van verschillende groepen die zowel klassiek als multistyle improviseren. Hij trad zo op in Vorst Nationaal, op de Grote Markt in Brussel, in de Bataclan en in de Salle Wagram in Parijs.

Denis Vernimmen zal enkel de saxofonisten begeleiden die in de halve finale kiezen voor Sonate van Phil Woods.

 

Belgique – 1972 

Denis Vernimmen began his musical education at the Conservatoire in Namur, where he obtained two Government Medals with the Highest Distinction. He went on to further studies at the Royal Liège Conservatory, where he won five First Prizes and obtained two Diplômes supérieurs  with Distinction and Great Distinction.

He attended a number of other courses in order to complete his training. He has been a finalist in the Dexia, Andrée Charlier, and Excellentia competitions.

After teaching the piano for ten years, he is now an Accompanist at the IMEP and at the Conservatoire in Namur. He was also an Accompanist for some years at the Royal Liège Conservatory.

He has appeared in concert with Etienne Plasman, Jean-Michel Charlier, Thierry Migliorini, Stéphane Réty, Sylvain Cremers, Manu Mellaerts, David Cohen, and Jean-Luc Votano, among others.

This classical career has not, however, prevented him from pursuing his passion for jazz. He has taken courses with Guy Cabay, Chris Defoort, Ron van Rossum, and Charles Loos, among others, and has appeared on a number of occasions with Paolo Loveri, Fabrice Alleman, Laurent Mercier, and others.

He has a particular interest in musical analysis and improvisation and is a member of a number of groups that turn the spotlight on classical and multi-style improvisation, with which he has performed at Forest-National/Vorst Nationaal, on the Grand-Place/Grote Markt in Brussels, at the Bataclan, and at the Salle Wagram in Paris.

Denis Vernimmen will be the exclusive accompanist of those saxophonists who choose the Phil Woods Sonata in the semi-final.
