Hiroshi Hara took saxophone courses given by Yoshiyuki Hattori and Kazuo Tomioka. He is a graduate of the Shobi College of Music and of the University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo. In 1996 he came first in the 13th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition.

He was the first Japanese musician to win the Adolphe Sax International Competition in Dinant (third edition, 2002).

In 2004, accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Kanagawa, he was the soloist in Fantasia by Heitor Villa-Lobos and Tableaux de Provence by Paule Maurice. That same year also saw him give advice and classes for the magazine Music Journal.

In 2007 Hiroshi Hara travelled to France (Paris and Capvern) where he gave a series of concerts and master classes.

In 2008 he presented a concert with a resolutely eclectic programme, combining contemporary Japanese compositions and modern French works. He was invited to the 2008 Chaiyi City International Band Festival (Taiwan), where he was very well received by an international audience. He has also appeared on NHK FM Radio in its programme Celebrated Music Recital. He was invited to be a member of the jury for the 25th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition.

He is currently sharing his musical knowledge and technique with pupils at the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and the Shobi College of Music.

En 2004, accompagné par l’Orchestre Philarmonique de Kanagawa, il joue, en soliste, Fantasia de Heitor Villa-Lobos et Tableaux de Provence de Paule Maurice. Durant cette même année, il dispense des conseils et donne des leçons pour le magazine Music Journal. En 2007, Hiroshi Hara rejoint la France (Paris et Capvern) où il donne une série de concerts et de master classes.

Durant l’année 2008, il propose un concert au programme résolument éclectique, mêlant des compositions contemporaines japonaises et des compositions modernes françaises. Cette même année, il est invité au Festival 2008 Chaiyi City International Band (Taiwan), où il reçoit un accueil chaleureux et international. Il s’est également produit sur les ondes de NHK FM Radio dans l’émission Celebrated Music Recital. Il a été invité comme juré de la 25th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition.

Actuellement, il dispense son savoir et sa technique au Senzoku Gakuen College of Music et au Shobi College
of Music.
